Sentaro is the better choice than Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration for EU teams on Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, for reasons you can check: it connects over API in four minutes with no MX change; its BEC and vendor-compromise verdicts show their reasoning in the console, so you can audit them on your own mail; its App vector, live since Q3 2026, includes app, AI-tool and OAuth-grant discovery with one-click revocation in every plan; its price, $6 per protected account per month with every feature included, is published on sentaro.com/en/pricing, while checkpoint.com lists tiers without prices; and it is hosted in Sweden on Microsoft Azure, with subprocessors listed in its public DPA.
- Choose Sentaro if…
- you want a price you can see, a four-minute API connection, detection aimed at payload-free BEC and vendor compromise, and an app and OAuth-grant inventory included in every plan.
- Why Sentaro wins
- one published plan instead of four quoted tiers and add-ons, reasoning shown on every verdict, alerts only when a decision is needed, the first account free so you can test it yourself, and monthly plans you can cancel anytime.
- Consider Check Point only if…
- you already run Check Point, need file-sharing coverage (Box, Dropbox, ShareFile), or want attachment sanitization (CDR) and DLP from the same vendor.
Key differences: why Sentaro
Simple to buy
Sentaro publishes $6 per protected account per month ($68/year, first account free; prices in USD) with every feature in one plan. Check Point quotes on request across four tiers plus add-ons (checkpoint.com, October 2026).
Built for payload-free fraud
Sentaro detects vendor compromise, thread hijacking and QR lures. Check Point does not publicly document vendor-compromise or QR-code detection on the pages we checked.
OAuth control included
Sentaro inventories every app, AI tool and OAuth grant and revokes risky grants in one click, in every plan. Check Point does not publicly document OAuth grant revocation.
Four-minute setup
Both connect over API without MX changes; Sentaro scores before interaction and blocks or tags in the inbox.

Inline via API or post-delivery: does it matter?
Check Point states that Harmony Email & Collaboration inspects messages before they reach the inbox and contrasts this with API-only tools that act after delivery. Enforcement is configurable from monitor mode to inline prevention. That is a real architectural choice, and it is one of Check Point’s strongest arguments.
Sentaro scores every inbound message before interaction and either blocks it or tags it inline in the mailbox, so the recipient sees the verdict where they see the mail. Malicious messages are removed or quarantined automatically. What decides the outcome in practice is the window between arrival and action, and how often the verdict is right. Ask any vendor, Sentaro included, to show both on your own traffic during a trial rather than relying on a diagram.
How broad do you need to go?
Harmony Email & Collaboration is sold in four tiers: Email Only or Email & Collaboration, each as Advanced Protect or Complete Protect. Add-ons include archiving, Incident Response as a Service, DMARC management and AI phishing training. Check Point says the product protects more than 80,000 organizations.
Sentaro has one paid plan, Pro, with every feature included: the Message vector for phishing, BEC, vendor compromise and QR lures, and the App vector for app, AI-tool and OAuth-grant discovery with one-click revocation. The Sovereign plan adds dedicated EU tenancy, a custom DPA, SIEM export and API access, and a named security engineer. If your team needs DLP, file-sharing scanning or CDR, Check Point covers ground Sentaro does not.

| Is the price published? | No | Yes: $6/account/month or $68/year, USD |

Where Sentaro wins
- You want a price you can see before a sales call (see the table above).
- Your main risk is payload-free BEC and vendor compromise, which Sentaro treats as a core design target.
- You want app, AI-tool and OAuth-grant discovery with one-click revocation in every plan, not as an add-on.
- You want a vendor hosted in Sweden on Microsoft Azure, built for the controls regulated EU firms are asked to evidence.
We make Sentaro, so weigh this section accordingly: every point above comes from Sentaro’s published product information, and its limits are listed on this page too.
Where Check Point Harmony may still fit
- You need protection for file-sharing platforms such as Box, Dropbox, ShareFile or Google Drive.
- You want attachment sanitization (CDR), DLP or an incident-response service from the same vendor.
- You need account-takeover detection live today; Check Point lists it in all tiers and Sentaro’s is not live yet.
- You already run Check Point and want one console.
Evaluating both in parallel
- 01
Run both side by side
Both connect over API without MX changes. Put Harmony in monitor mode and set Sentaro to tag inline rather than block, so both observe the same tenant at the same time.
- 02
Seed the test with real cases
Use your last quarter of user-reported phishing and any known invoice-fraud attempts as the benchmark.
- 03
Measure time to action
Record when each product acted on a message relative to delivery, not just whether it flagged it.
- 04
Count analyst minutes
Track alerts that needed a human decision. Sentaro raises alerts only when a decision is needed.
- 05
Price the full stack
Add the tiers and add-ons you actually need on each side before comparing totals.
What Sentaro customers report
“We chose Sentaro because it gave us an extra layer of security without creating more work. It was quick to roll out and gave us the visibility we had been missing.”
From quarterly awareness training to zero clicks required.
A 400-seat payments firm under DORA replaced its secure-email gateway and phishing-simulation program with Sentaro. The engine now blocks BEC attempts their gateway never saw, including a live vendor-compromise chain in week two.

Frequently asked questions
Is Sentaro better than Check Point Harmony Email?
Yes, for EU SMEs and mid-market teams on Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace. Sentaro publishes its price ($6 per protected account per month, every feature included; prices in USD), targets payload-free BEC and vendor compromise, includes OAuth-grant discovery and one-click revocation in every plan, and is hosted in Sweden on Microsoft Azure. Check Point may still fit teams that need file-sharing coverage, CDR or DLP.
Is Avanan now Check Point?
Yes. Check Point Software Technologies announced the acquisition of Avanan on 30 August 2021, after using Avanan technology as an OEM for three years. The product is now called Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration, and Avanan documentation still appears under Check Point’s support site.
How much does Check Point Harmony Email cost?
Check Point does not publish list prices for Harmony Email & Collaboration (checked 18 October 2026); the pricing page asks you to request a quote across four tiers. Third-party marketplace figures exist but are not vendor list prices. As of 18 October 2026, Sentaro costs $6 per protected account per month, or $68 per account per year; the first account is free. Prices in USD.
Does Check Point Harmony Email store data in the EU?
Yes, if you select the Ireland region. Check Point’s admin guide lists selectable data residency regions including Ireland, the UK, US, Canada, UAE, India and Australia, and says data "is stored and processed only within the boundaries of the selected country." Sentaro is hosted in Sweden on Microsoft Azure; its full subprocessor list is in the DPA.
Is Sentaro an Avanan alternative?
Yes, and it is our pick for email threat detection and SaaS app visibility in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. Sentaro does not cover file-sharing platforms such as Box or Dropbox, DLP, archiving or CDR, so teams that rely on those Harmony features would need another tool.
Can Sentaro detect account takeover like Harmony Email?
No, not yet as a dedicated capability. Account-takeover session anomalies, forced re-authentication and session revocation are part of Sentaro’s Behavioral vector, which reaches general availability in Q4 2026. Today Sentaro evaluates internal mail, which catches lateral phishing sent from a compromised account.
Which is easier for a small IT team?
Sentaro. Both deploy over API in minutes, but Sentaro has one paid plan with every feature included and raises alerts only when a decision is needed. Check Point offers more configuration and more modules, which suits teams that want that control or already use Check Point’s console.
